Community Legal Education Ontario

CLEO is a specialized community legal clinic that produces clear language material for people with low incomes. Main topics include social assistance and pension, landlord and tenant law, refugee and immigration law, workers' compensation, family law, human rights, abuse and family violence, consumer law, criminal law, education law, environmental law, health and disability, wills and estates. . Some of their booklets and pamphlets can be read on line, if your computer can use Acrobat Reader. Law Society of Upper Canada, Lawyer Referral Service
The Law Society is the body that governs all lawyers in Ontario. The Law Society Upper Canada has a service to help people find a lawyer skilled in the correct area of law, the Lawyer Referral Service.

A phone call to the Lawyer Referral Service at 1-800-268-8326  will get you the name and phone number of a lawyer who will give you a 30 minute consultation for free.
